This is right out of the woodwork in Ashley, Michigan, from a vet's recent estate farm auction. The box, with all the goodies was bought by one of my long time buddies, just the way you see it. It is a US WWII GI 10 in 1 ration box, painted green and sent through the mail. It looks like it was sent, from Europe to someone stationed @ Camp Custer, MI, and from there to the home address. I see customs papers glued to the box, under the paper wrapping. The buckle shows some honest use and light age, but has no issues and is a good looking example. It comes with the vet's GI WWII named ditty bag it, was stored in for 65 years.

This came out of a house sale in Rochester, Michigan for 50 cents, really! I had the pay the owner much, much more. The has a great honest look, but one side of the catch has broken @ the weld. I am sure it could be easily fixed or just leave it the way it is.

This is a really attractive set. The buckle is the later war universal black/blue painted buckle. These were designed to be a buckle that Navy and Army troops could use. This is a great example and hard one to find; I really feel guilty selling it.
This is called the Navy buckle, but could also just be a late war Army buckle. In 1944/45 often tunic and M 43 cap buttons were painted a dark blue or universal color, which would work for Army, Luftwaffe or Navy.
