50621Z SA Feldjagerkorps Helmet Insignia $275

No, I didn't make this up; it really existed. It was part of the Prussian State Police. The helmet was an M16 style, and used a decal or metal badge. The helmet is pictured in History Of  The German Steel Helmet  by L. Bear, p.249-251. These are super rare. It is made of aluminum, with wonderful gold wash. The prongs are there and sound. Further is has a nice RZM mark.

These are really tough to find when you need one. It is perfect with old tarnish and all the prongs.


40742 Un-Issued German Army Helmet Decal SOLD$100

This is something every German helmet collector should have. It is un-issued and mint. The decal is made of silver foil, and has a slight crease to one side. Overall it is a perfect example for your collection.


80735 NSKK 1st Pattern Helmet Front Plate $130

This is a very attractive helmet front plate that was worn on the leather helmet. The finish is very good with nice original black paint on the swaz. Each prong on the back has a double set of wires.  One is missing a second prong, so 5 are still left, making it very usable for your helmet.


206119 Original WWII German Helmet Liner String $22 each

It looks like spaghetti, but in fact it is a pile of original German WWII helmet strings. They range from mint and perfect to used and dirty, to match your liner. I will do my best to make sure the condition matches your helmet. The pile of spaghetti has decreased to the "fat lady trying to loose weight" portion size. I am running out, so get yours now. 100748 Large Size Original M31 Helmet Liner for Shell Size 68 Dated 1941 SOLD$200

This is a hard to find large size liner.  It is dated 1941, and completely original.  The leather is a bit salty with 2 breaks @ the rim, but for the most part is is solid. The string is also original to the piece.


110657 Original M31 helmet Liner Size 62/54 by B & C Litzmanstadt 1943 $170

This is a mint example made of pieced together leather later in the war. The leather is very nice and still tan and sound, with only one very little tear.  Everything is completely original.


80650 Original M31 helmet Liner  1942 Dated Size 66/59 $125

This is a nice solid original liner that was re issued to Norway after the war. The leather has been stained a red/brown color, and the aluminum pins holding the leather to the band, have been replaced with brass ones. I sell replica aluminum pins that look just like the original ones. Check my replica helmet parts section. The leather is very sound and solid. I have seen the stain removed with Acetone, to an original tan color. Still it is  a very useable original liner, which is better than nothing or a replica liner.


100739 Early Double Decal Luftwaffe Brass Rivet Set Unmarked with Spacers SOLD$75

This is out of a poor condition DD Luft M35 with a 1938 dated liner. The paint is original Luft blue, and is about 60%+. The rivets are very early brass with the original spacers. These early original painted rivet sets are really hard to find.

This is a good original matched set of rivets taken from the same M40 liner dated 1941 helmet. They are unmarked, but stil have a good amount of original paint.

This is a good solid example. The leather has a bit of shine from being on a helmet visor for years. The material is very solid with only one very small snag @  one of the holes. Overall it is a good solid 1940 dated example.

This is a very solid example. The leather is very sold, but a tiny bit stretched from period use. It is about 1941ish production. The maker mark is very easy to see, but not a date. It is a very solid example for your helmet.

70771 German WWII M31 Chinstrap A Early Full Length 1938? Dated $150

This is a good original strap with early aluminum hardware. It is a tiny bit stretched, and shows its age, but is still solid.  It is dated 193 and I think the last number is an 8, but I am not sure.


70772 German WWII Transitional Chinstrap B with Carbine Hook SOLD$175

These are really hard to find. It is overall solid with the exception of a break @ the small end by the buckle.  This is the 1st one of these I have had for sale in a long time.

 This is a good strap, but with one weak spot or cut about halfway through. It is full length and will work fine in your helmet.

This is a great strap.  It is in wonderful condition with a really nice maker's stamp and 1941 date.


50720 Original German M.31 Helmet Chinstrap Mint Unissued $165

This one has never even been put on al helmet, as the ends have never been folded. It has a faint maker's stamp and an SS die stamp in the leather. The chinstrap is 100% original the SS stamp is ??? This could be a super rare strap.


30680 Original German M.31 Helmet Chinstrap  SOLD$90

This is a super nice full length chinstrap, is very solid condition. It is a typical late-war un marked example. It was marked with the Czech 1945 surplus stamp as most German surplus militaria was. Overall it is a very nice chinstrap.


German Helmet Liner Info

This applies to original and replica liners.

German WWII helmets models M35, M40 and M42 come in one of seven sizes. The liners DO NOT adjust, and are not universal as are US liners. This is a source of endless confusion and consternation to collectors and re-enactors. The German sizing system is actually rather simple and very logical. Stay with me, and we will get through this together. Pay attention; there might be a test @ the end.

 The Shell

The shell is marked on the inside of the rim about one inch from the edge on the helmet’s left side, or in the back. The markings are die-stamped in small font. You may have to look very carefully.  A four digit number stamped into the back flange is the lot number, and not important for the size determination.  The markings consist of several letters and two numbers i.e. ET64. The letters are the helmet manufacture. The numbers are the interior circumference of the helmet shell in centimeters, which are as follows: 60, 62, 64, 66, 68, 70 & 72.

 The Liner

The liner has an outer band size and an inner band size. The outer band size corresponds to the size of the helmet shell.  The inner band size is the head size. Inner bands come in sizes 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, & 63. Each outer band size can accommodate two different inner band sizes. Thus, a WWII size 66 outer band can have a 58 or a 59 inner band. The problem is that your helmet shell must have the appropriate size outer band. So, a shell size 66, must have a size 66 liner. A size 62 cannot accommodate a size 66 liner.  Many people get a "deal" on a size 62 shell and then call me demanding a liner to fit it for their size 59 head. Sorry, this won't happen. It is like fitting 20# of dog food into a 10# bag. This means, when shopping for a helmet, you must figure out what size shell will handle the liner size for your melon.
